What We Believe
Who We Are, What We Do
PPOH is a group of volunteers who believe all animals deserve loving forever homes. Rescue is hard work, but it is also worthwhile work. And we have fun working hard, together, for the benefit of homeless cats and dogs. If you'd like to help make the difference in the life of homeless pets, and make some great new friends along the way, please contacat us about volunteering!
Join us for adoption events at Tractor Supply and PetSmart on various weekends (announced on our website and Facebook). Volunteers help set up and break down events, talk to potential adopters, sell items for fundraising purposes, and walk dogs during the event.
We Believe in Rescue
We believe that adoption is the best option! In the picture below, PPOH President Gayle Luna shares this message with Channel 10 at the Canyon 4th of July event.
We Believe in Participating in Community Events
PPOH participates in the Canyon 4th of July Celebration and the WTAMU Homecoming event. Let us know if you'd like to help!
We Believe in Foster Care
Fostering is a very rewarding experience! We often hear, "I couldn't foster - I couldn't let them go!" While it is difficult to say good-bye to an animal you've grown to love, it is also incredibly heartwarming to see an animal who needed you turn into an animal who now is ready to move to his or her forever home. We couldn't do all we do without amazing fosters. When you sign up to foster for PPOH, we commit to you that you will have an integral part in approving your foster pet's forever home. You know the animal best, and will help make the right choice on where the pet goes. We are committed to finding the right home for our animals! Our foster application is available on our homepage, or you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. We provide food and vet care - you provide water, shelter and love.
We Believe it Takes a Village to Save Animals
PPOH works with rescues on the east coast, in Colorado, in the Panhandle of Texas, and throughout the State. We recognize that it takes partners to save animals! Our volunteers foster animals so they can move to locations where they have a better chance of getting adopted, drive transport for other rescues, and stay in constant communication with other rescues who help Texas animals. We appreciate the close relationships we have with other rescuers, and appreciate all they do to help animals in need!
We Believe in Growing the Next Generation of Rescuers
We are proud to have teenages who help our organization - with the help of their families, they foster animals; with the permission of their parents, they help at events. They are learning the importance of volunteerism and animal rescue, and the incredible responsibility of pet ownership. We welcome responsible, reliable and hard-working teenagers to help at our events. (Parents MUST complete a liability waiver.) Someday the next generation will need to take over animal rescue efforts - we are excited to help them learn the ropes!
